Who am I? Frank Newnham, Owner of Newnham Constructions

Queenslander – I have been in the building game for 40 years and I am a third-generation family builder, so you might say building new homes is in my blood. In the early 60’s my grandfather, Kevin Newnham, built properties in Sydney. Carrying on the tradition, my father, Reginald, became a builder to and he built properties all along the east coast of Australia in the 70’s. Then at the tender age of 15 my father put me to work as his apprentice carpenter and I’ve been building ever since!

In 1985 I came to the Gold Coast where I started Newnham Constructions.

Newnham Constructions have provided great versatility on the Gold Coast, constructing everything from extensions and large industrial developments, to one-off exclusive homes of stunning style, quality and finish.

The Biggest Lesson I’ve Learnt Over The Past 25 Years

Over the past 25 years I’ve seen a lot of builders come and go and what I’ve learnt from my clients and my own experiences is this. Like most industries and professions, the ‘fly by night’ builders who find you, flog you and forget you, chasing the quick buck with shoddy workmanship, will always exist. Now I can’t do anything to change that, but what I can do for you is this!

When I started as an apprentice carpenter for my father he worked me really hard (or at least I thought he did). He was a great man that taught me many great things, but the biggest single lesson I learnt about building and life from him was to “do it well, do it once”. And even though I didn’t really get it at first, since the age of 20 or so I’ve believed and practised “doing it well, doing it once” in my life, my businesses and everything I do. If I was in your shoes and you asked me what the biggest reason was for you to choose me to build your new home, I would have to say because my team and I “do it well, do it once!”

Yes, I am a perfectionist with old-fashioned values, work ethics and principles with over 25 years’ building expertise, but with us you get much more than that. My team and I are exceptionally good at delivering personal service planning, designing and building homes of all shapes, sizes and budgets from start to finish.

With countless industry awards and accolades, the only reason myself and Newnham Constructions have achieved the success and recognition we have is due to the fact we are passionate about what we do for you and believe in “doing it well, doing it once.”
